When Mark was in his early teens, two families in his community lost their dads only months apart. One had insurance. The other didn’t.
The difference was night and day.
One family had space to grieve, support to stay afloat, and time to rebuild. The other faced financial pressure immediately — on top of heartbreak.
Seeing that contrast so young showed Mark how powerful the right protection can be… and how devastating it is when it’s not there.
Outside of work family is a big part of Mark’s life. Mark’s oldest daughter, Dani, lives in Scotland with her fiancé, Mitch, and their three energetic boys. Here in New Zealand, Mark & his wife, Mel, have 3 kids – Jake, Karli and Zac. The kids are all active Surf Lifeguards, and the Surf Life Saving Club is a big part of the family’s summers. Winter keeps everyone busy with rugby, lacrosse and netball — and when they can, the family enjoys heading away for a few days of snowboarding.
With over 30 years in financial services, Mark has walked alongside many families and businesses during their toughest moments. He has seen how the right cover doesn’t change what’s happened — but it does give people time, breathing room, and options when they need them most.
